There is something about chaining user fields in Discourse Authentication Validations and there is also the very powerful Custom Wizard Plugin 🧙. But I haven’t used any of these myself.
Maybe it makes sense to show only the most important custom fields on the sign up form and ask the users to fill in the other fields later.
