Hi. I really like Discourse. But I’m wondering theres no way for sub-sub categories. Why? We’re using Discourse for a Multi Gaming Community. But it’s hard to order some topics. Yes some things are possible with tags. But why is there no way for more sub categories? Don’t want to use some other ugly forum anymore. But this is not very functional.

It is not on our roadmap for the forseeable future, and it was never planned.

He there. I’m trying to make a decision now should I switch to Discourse from phpBB. I will have to convert DB of curent forun. My forum is not very complex, but there’s up to 4 levels of sub-categories somewhere. Like:
Music > Electronics > Dubstep
or
Games > MMORPG > World of Warcraft > Recruiting
I’ve found info that Discourse supports only 2 levels of categories now. But maybe there’s a plugin for this?
Is it possible to create subcategories within subcategories? For example, can I have a grandparent category, parent subcategory, and child subcategory? If not, is there any alternative to creating a separate instance for each “grandparent”?
Is it possible to create a category inside a subcategory, making a third level?
