# Sudo iptables -S brengt veel te veel termen met zich mee

1. Create a new instance on Oracle (Canonical Ubuntu 20)
2. Connect to your server
3. Follow [these exact steps](https://meta.discourse.org/t/self-hosting-for-free-with-oracle-cloud/139184/15). Use `sudo su` in order to be able to add and save the new firewall settings

I just did it from the start and it works perfectly:

```plaintext
Hostname for your Discourse? [discourse.example.com]: mydomain.com

Checking your domain name . . .
Connection to mydomain.com succeeded.

```
