Support for San Francisco font

(Kirikou) #1

Hi,

Can Discourse please include the new Apple system font in the stylesheet? It’s way better than Helvetica for reading and aesthetically!

Sure can you send through a pull request with the CSS edit?

I’ll send in a pull request right away.

one moment there, I don’t want to depend on fonts unless absolutely needed, like we do with font icons. maybe add san fran to the list of fonts on mac, but can we please look at some screen shots first.

I’m a bit late to this party, but this article is an interesting read on the subject.

Apple kind of hides San Francisco as a system font, so you can’t specifically declare it in CSS… instead you have to use a prefixed value that selects the system font, which currently only works in Safari. Might be worth waiting until font-family: system; gets added to the official spec.

It’s nice looking though.
