# Synology docker installs

Has anyone gotten the discourse release package installed on Synology. Whenever I run the container the log contains a simple exit. And it is clearly not running. Anyone?

Just trying to get this to work to experiment.

The exit logs are when the container starts. It starts and just exits.

That container only works in companion of [Discourse official Standard Installation](https://meta.discourse.org/t/discourse-official-standard-installation/142537).

While possible to run it on the sinology hardware it will require quite a lot of fiddling with it’s internal packages, reverse proxy, etc.

I’d recommend trying in a VPS that bills hourly for starters.

I did as you said and had @pfaffman help me install Discourse on IONOS cloud server on a 1GB instance with Ubuntu. It works marvellously. Thanks for the guidance.
