System destroys pictured-links

(Bálint Antal) #1

I usually embed images into links like this:

[![](IMAGE)](LINK)

Now I always get notifications from the System, that it edited my posts. When I open the post, I see it changed my version to the following:

[<img src='IMAGE_REL' alt=''>](<img src='LINK_REL'>)

What can cause this problem and how can I fix it if I can?

Hmm let’s see

System-edited:
[<img src='//discourse-meta.s3-us-west-1.amazonaws.com/original/2X/3/349841408d1aa1f5a8892686fbdf54777afc0b2c.png' alt=''>](http://www.google.com)

Original:

Can you provide a more complete, real example with actual values? What exactly is in IMAGE and LINK in your above example?

edit: as you can see, system downloaded my image but did not “destroy” it so this is highly specific to your syntax… I need complete details.

Oh sorry, it’s my fault!

It only does this if I link to an image.

Thanks!

No need to link to the image just paste the image in as an URL on its own line, eg.

https://www.google.com/images/srpr/logo11w.png
