# Tags en ten minste Scandinavische alfabetten

When I publish a post in WordPress I can add tags for Discourse. That works just fine but if there is another characters than a-z, meaning åäö, in tags the plugin will drop those. Discourse itself has no problems.
I haven’t tried but perhaps with german, danish, norweigian etc has same issue.
Is there something I can do or is this more or less bug’ish character coding issue?

Hey @Jagster, thanks for this report.
I’ve made a PR to the [WP Discourse](https://github.com/discourse/wp-discourse) plugin which adopts the same approach to tags that Discourse uses internally, which means that diacritics, i.e. åäö, will work like they do in normal Discourse tags.

When @simon merges it, this update will be present in the next version of the plugin: `2.3.1`.
