# Tags pages: no update until browser refresh when changing to eg watching/muted

to replicate:

1. go to a tags page eg [https://meta.discourse.org/tags/keyboard-interaction](https://meta.discourse.org/tags/keyboard-interaction)
2. click on the circle pulldown menu and change to eg. watching (argh, I don’t even know what this feature is called..)
3. see that nothing happens - the circle does not change
4. refresh browser, and see the change.

meanwhile, I also noticed that there’s no user preferences setting for maintaining/removing tags you have set to watching/muted etc.

The term you are looking for is “notification level”

- Set your `tag` notification level to `watching`

- Set your `category` notification level to `muted`

ah, yes! 🙂 mercy buckets.

and meanwhile, a mouseover helper text along the lines of “set your notification level” would be helpful.
