Ironically, this is the second #Contribute > Bug topic I’m making relating to the Bug Reporting badges. * * * I have just received the Tester badge. Moving this to #Contribute > Site feedback , this is a custom badge that was misconfigured and now is backfilled. This is a badge the team have been fiddling with lately, so its likely the edge case popped up due to that. ---

As far as I remember, the tester and senior tester badges have always used the date of the first report rather than the most recent one (10th or 25th). I’m not sure this is a big enough problem to worry about, and as James wrote [back in 2023](https://meta.discourse.org/t/tester-badge-says-it-was-granted-on-the-wrong-date/277232/2) fiddling with it may cause more issues when run against historical data. This is a quirk in the query we use here on meta but not something most people will notice or care about. It came up now for you @NateDhaliwal because of the backfilling. Like Moin, my tester and senior tester badges show the same date. In my case it’s Aug 9, 2014. Weirdly, the earliest bug reporter badge I got is a year after that, Feb 18, 2015. 🤷 Maybe that first bug topic I reported got deleted.
