# Textbox not showing on mobile in chat channels

Hello! 🙂
There is minor bug when trying to use the chat channels from the phone: the textbox in which you can see what you are typing will disappear when you tap on it to start writing (when the phone keyboard “rises” for you to type), and will not reappear when you start typing. I accidentally found that to make it reappear, I have to swipe up in the blank-space of the chatroom, so it seems like the text box actually remains where it was and is covered by the phone keyboard when it rises.
I have the latest stable Discourse version (up to April 18). My phone model: Motorola G6-Plus, Android 9.

I believe that may have been fixed in this commit:

If you update to latest this may already be sorted. 🤞

I find I can not update the forum myself since I’m using Communiteq, but it will just be a matter of days until the next update so I can wait. It’s more than enough to know it has been considered, so thank you 😁

Not sure, @JammyDodger will this be backported to stable?
Otherwise we can move you to the tests-passed branch @lisandro_iaffar but we’ll need your agreement on that.

I’m still working on this whole day, it’s hopefully fixed but still merging big changes so there might be regressions today. No plan to merge this on stable for now sorry.

And thank you @RGJ for offering that solution 🙂 ; but I prefer to remain in the stable branch and wait. I have been waiting 2 years to get people to adopt the forum I have been working on, I can wait a bit more, no hurries :P.

This is fine, and supported by management here…
We can not afford the engineering to backport this kind of stuff… chat has drifted TONS since we first released it. It is just too hard to pull in all the fixes.

No worries, all good. I merged lots of fixes yesterday, I have one more small tweak on iOS but I think it will be all fixed soon.
