The restore failed. Please check the logs

#1

I recently converted Xenforo to Discourse from local environment, and uploaded the backup file (2.8MB) to http://forums.minecraftly.com and restore. It failed.

Here is the log: http://pastebin.com/nYYccyZb

Can you guys please help?

[2016-12-30 16:19:27] EXCEPTION: You’re trying to restore a more recent version of the schema. You should migrate first!

Update your forum before. Go to /admin/upgrade and update first.

Weird, I visited /admin/upgrade but it shows nothing.

P/S: I’m using DiscourseHosting.com

That changes everything.

You made the backup on a newer version, so you either:

  • Ask Discourse Hosting to upgrade you to latest

  • Do the entire migration again using the same version you have at DiscourseHosting

Got it. Thanks. I will report back with the result.

They said my forums is at the latest stable release:

You don’t - your forum is currently on the latest stable release.

When a new stable version is released we test it and then your forum will be upgraded automatically.

Discourse 1.7 is planned for release on January 6, 2017. We need a few days to test and iron out some issues with the plugins and such so your forum will be on 1.7 in two weeks from now.

“latest” != “stable”

DiscourseHosting uses “stable”. Your local version probably uses “tests-passed”. Try to set up local with “stable” first.
