Perhaps I’m a minority opinion, but I think being able to set a X hours time limit for a pinned topic would be nice. I often want to pin topics for a limited amount of time and it would be nice if Discourse could manage that for me. Kind of like the Category auto-close feature, but for topic pinning.

Yes, that’s why this is listed as a feature we’re building for 1.4.. and has been for some time. Check the releases category.
