TL4 "Rebuild HTML" Appears to do Nothing

#1

I have a post on my home forum that has an odd mismatch between the baked text and the raw post, probably because of an edit made during the grace period.

Baked:

Raw:

Since I’m TL4 over there, I tried using the “Rebuild HTML” command to fix this mismatch, but 20 minutes later, nothing has changed.

I wonder if rebuild html is not working for TL4 and is a staff function, can @PJH confirm the rebuild fails for him as well.

(no reason for it to be a TL4 only function we can change that)

Yes @techapj can you check into this? I don’t know that TL4 needs this ability, though. I don’t oppose it or anything but is it necessary?

I think it is reasonable, there are quite a few cases where raw/cooked differs and allowing TL4 to fix this up lessens moderator load.

I’d be alright with TL 4 having the Rebuild ability. I don’t see how they could harm anything with it… (plus they should be considered well trusted by that point…)

(PJH) #6

Not at the moment - we’re getting 5xx errors again…

(PJH) #7

Confirming my TL4 couldn’t rebuild HTML. Mod-only could. Obviously I couldn’t test Admin-only…

Yes, this was a TL4 only issue, fixed :ant:
