# Topic doesn't show new posts on the fly anymore

With the latest Discourse update a user does no longer see a new post to his topic immediately. He needs to reload the site to see the post. Any hints where to look for the bug?

Logs show lots of these errors:

TypeError: can't access dead object

Any help appreciated!

Does the problem persist in [safe mode](https://meta.discourse.org/t/53504?silent=true)? Do you have any unofficial plugins?

Thanks for your help! [Safe mode](https://meta.discourse.org/t/53504?silent=true) works and I could narrow it down to the custom theme (?safe\_mode=no\_custom works). So I disable all components one by one or is there a better way? Thanks so much!

Disable all components one by one, then once you find the component, comment out half, then a quarter … till you find the problem.
