The [Topic List Excerpts](https://meta.discourse.org/t/topic-list-excerpts/151520) component has [a bug](https://meta.discourse.org/t/information-about-pinned-topic-is-not-updated-when-using-new-unread-topics-banner/303928/2) so I added a new option here to **show topic excerpts** so that component is not needed.
