# Topic lists with custom "excerpts"

Currently, there are Topic List Excertps and Topic List Previews Theme Components, however, I couldn’t find the feature I had in mind in both.

What I would like to have is something like the following (either option 1 or 2 would suffice):

1. Rendering a custom\_field of a topic:  

2. Rendering a substring of the first post:

Is either one of these possible with the current themes for topic excerpts? Or is it worth opening a marketplace offer?
