# Error setting text color for welcome banner

### Error occurs after saving:

### An error occurred: welcome\_banner\_text\_color: Invalid color. Enter a color name or hex value.

I believe you need to have a pound symbol in front of the color, so try `#2c76af`

Shouldn’t it be added automatically? After I click to select a color, the preceding # is not added automatically.

Yes, I was suggesting this as a temporary workaround. It’s weird and inconsistent behavior that might be better suited for #Contribute > UX but for now you can use that to create the banner.
