# How many subcategories are displayed in the main category

Hello. I have a category where I need to add many subcategories in the form of cities. Could you please tell me how many subcategories will be displayed in the main category? And where can this be configured?

i’m not a horizon theme user but i tested it and i can add a bunch that show up. i don’t know if it has a limit though.

i think the only way to find out is to just do it 😃 30 is quite a lot, but if you don’t have many parent categories it may be ok.

These are cities. Each city has its own charitable funds. All these charitable funds need to be assigned to their respective categories. That’s why so many categories are planned ) Thank you for your suggestions.

Maybe develop a small component that provides a dropdown list of subcategories for selection. You would need to add a parameter to select the parent category or categories. It’s just an idea 😅

Looking at Horizon’s code, these cards aren’t customized with any Javascript, just CSS. So it would essentially behave like a category box when not in Horizon. If category boxes limit it, then it’ll also be limited here.
