Transifex for informal German

(Jens Maier) #1

The German localization in Transifex right now is sort of a mix of formal and informal speech (which is partly my fault… – unfortunately, this thread died off). How can we fix this?

As far as I can see, it’s not possible to request a second “German” translation and Transifex apparently doesn’t support custom language codes or language code tags. Would it be ok, at least as a temporary workaround, to abuse something like the “Palatine German (pfl)” locale for an informal German translation?

German translation

Would be interested in an informal Version, but i don’t think misusing another language tag is the right answer. Maybe we should leave the formal one in the official repository (transflex) and put the informal one on github?

Actually, the way things stand right now, the default German translation in Transifex is informal and a formal translation does not exist yet.

Ok i requested group access. This is the correct transifex group?
