# Turning off editing comments counting as new activity

Hello!
We have been using Discourse for over 6 months now and are very pleased with it 🙂
A community member has asked something that we are not too sure about:
Turning off editing comments counting as new activity
> But would like to promote the idea of disable this if possible, that every time a comment is edited, it counts as new activity. I might be the only one with that issue, I just edit comments later for misspellings, additions etc, and often this can take some rounds and just unnecessary Its shown again… and I think most use it for misspellings, which would make it unnecessary to count as activity… It also wastes peoples time, opening up a thread to see nothing happened since last.
Is this possible?
