Twitch embed not appearing properly in posts because they don't support https

embedding

#1

When I enter a Twitch URL in a post, all I get in the post preview is a giant image of the Twitch channel’s avatar. In the actual post, nothing appears at all–not the picture, not the channel link.

Example:

Above is the link, and below is what it looks like in my preview.

Mixed Content: The page at ‘Twitch embed not appearing properly in posts because they don’t support https’ was loaded over HTTPS, but requested an insecure resource ‘http://www-cdn.jtvnw.net/swflibs/TwitchPlayer.swf?channel=8ull&playerType=facebook’. This request has been blocked; the content must be served over HTTPS.r @ vendor-d726f166eae32585d948cc4b83590d33.js?v=1&origin=https%3A%2F%2Fmeta.discourse.org:22

This isn’t going to work until Twitch allows for HTTPS usage.

They do support HTTPS embedding of the video frame, sadly the current implementation is Flash:

https://www-cdn.jtvnw.net/swflibs/TwitchPlayer.swf?channel=CHANNELNAME

Ah, so we need to patch the onebox code to upgrade that reference to https (but not everything else).

Any news about this?

Video is still delivered over HTTP, so still waiting on Twitch for this.
