# Unable to change "system" avatar

I’ve been trying to change the avatar of my “system” user, but it’s not changing it. It lets me upload the new avatar, it even lets me select it, but after clicking “Save Changes”, it doesn’t update it. I think this is a bug.

BTW the “system” user I’m referring to is the default user that posts the Staff posts like the Privacy Policy, etc.

You may have to go to your site settings and disable the `use site small logo as system avatar` setting first.

This confused me for a minute the other day too. @Roman would it be possible to disable the site setting automatically if someone is trying to upload a custom picture?

I merged a PR to display the site’s small logo as the selected option. Choosing a different avatar will automatically disable the `use site small logo as system avatar` site setting.
