## AI-generated summary

[Andro](/t/-/414747/1) reports the sudden appearance of numerous bot accounts on their forum, despite not enabling AI features. They ask why these accounts were created after recent updates and how to remove them.

[nickdb](/t/-/414747/2) explains that these bots are part of the core build regardless of feature usage. Recently, a single agent account was split into individual accounts for specific features, as detailed in [this pull request](https://github.com/discourse/discourse/pull/43676). Nickdb suggests that if the system allows, users can remove these accounts and their dependencies if they do not intend to use AI features, though he notes that AI agents are becoming integral to platform security, such as anti-spam measures.

I have not enabled any Ai features as far as I am aware. But suddenly there are a whole lot of bot accounts i did not create. These appeared after the latest set of updates. Why did these get created and how can I get rid of them? I have no need of Ai for the forum.

They are part of the build whether you use them or not, recently a single account for the agent was broken out to individual ones for the relevant features.

>
> Use agents as conversation recipients and select language models
> independently. …Resolve and validate agent/model choices across personal
> messages, chat, and streamed replies, retaining them for follow-ups.
>
> Retire model companion-user creation and username lookup while preserving
> historical bot attribution. Show agent and model identity on replies and
> shared conversations, and update selectors and regression coverage.

Something I also noticed. If the system will let you, can’t see why you can’t remove them and their dependencies, if you will never use them.

It’s something that is becoming integral to the platform, I couldn’t imagine anti-spam without the AI agent..
