# Update Avatar on discourse.org/users/username page

It will use a [gravatar](https://en.gravatar.com/) if you have one set up.

You’ll see whatever Gravatar is serving. We aren’t doing any caching ourselves. I find that it can take a while for Gravatar to start serving my new avatars.

Although it’s a cached gravatar which you need to manually refresh in each discourse site if you want them up to date after changing to a new gravatar - unlike most of other gravatar sites, which probably have no cache but at least update instantly.
