"Update" plugin?

Is there a way to update a plugin? Running the command:

rake plugin:install repo=https://github.com/...

Will tell me that the directory already exists (I can just delete the directory, of course). Is there a command like…

rake plugin:update repo=https://github.com/...

That will just replace the existing files?

The page at /admin/docker should be able to update plugins for you, if they were installed over Git.

Yes, but the syntax is a bit different, the plugin:update command does not accept a repo= parameter but a plugin= parameter instead.

So it’s for instance

rake plugin:update plugin=discourse-adsense

Awesome, thanks! Should I do rake assets:clean afterwards?

I think you will need rake assets:precompile after in prd.

On local, I find that unfortunately I an constantly running rm -fr tmp/cache we need to get our dependency story fixed.

I haven’t encountered any problems with just doing rake assets:clean, but I don’t know enough to provide valuable information.
