Is there any plan or schedule to update the upstream Font Awesome version? There is an icon in version 4.2 that I’d like to use for a badge.
We update this fairly regularly, feel free to nag us prior to each release.
Can we bump to 4.4.0? Pretty please.
A bit late since we plan to release in 2 days…
Welp. I figured I’d look to see if there were any posts about FA version bumps and saw this. I’ll just monkey it to
Its pretty low risk I just updated us to 4.4, will watch it today.
Hooray! Just when I needed it!
Any estimate about bumping this to 4.6.x?
Is it OK to nag for 4.7 now? No rush one way or another!
5.0.0? It’s a big update.

What is the meaning of the green check marks on the upgrade page?
It is a big update! we’re fairly close to our 1.9 release, so we’re looking to update it for 2.0.
And there’s a super cool surprise in that update, I dunno if we’ve mentioned it anywhere yet. If anyone here is into Easter eggs, you could go digging…
i ain’t telling you nuffin…go find it yourself
but if you really want to know open this
I already said…I ain’t tellin
but you really want to know don't you?
You can’t say I didn’t warn ya
I’m still not telling… sorry
They ship with a discord icon natively, so once this hits I’ll be able to use it for the discord oauth plugin, too. That’s Christmas enough for me!
Ps I found your egg. Very cool!
@jetatomic Yes. I already aware of that new Patreon fa-icon. I will update it soon after we have support for 5.0
Plans for this update soon-ish?
Itchin to get my hands on some of those new icons…
is it going to be the FA5 Basic Set or FA5 Pro?
FA5 Pro requires a license per site, so we’ll have to ship with FA5 Basic. It’s possible we can add a setting for sites that purchase a license in the future… they’re still figuring out how things should work on their end too:
Can I use Font Awesome 5 Pro in open source projects?
We’re still figuring out how best to make the Pro version of Font Awesome 5 available for open source projects and popular plugins like yours. We think our CDN can help with that and we’re hoping to get a version out later this year. Until then, we prefer that you not redistribute Pro assets/services and think your best bet for integration is to use Font Awesome 5 Free.
An option to enter an authorization code for Pro would be fantastic!
Until then linking to FA CDN will do.
