Upgrade ends with FAILED TO BOOTSTRAP

AI-generated summary

A user, nesnera, attempted to upgrade their Discourse instance but ended with a “FAILED TO BOOTSTRAP” error. Falco advised that the stable release channel is currently broken and recommended either following the default release channel or waiting for a fix. nesnera asked for clarification on following the default release channel and explained their upgrade steps, which resulted in the error. Meanwhile, dan has added a dummy themes:update task to both stable and beta channels, which might resolve the issue. nesnera thanked dan for the effort.

I tried unsuccessfully to upgrade. Any advice?

@Falco - Thanks for your response and explanation. What does it mean

? Did I do something wrong? My steps:

  • I started the update in admin/upgrade. There were several components to update, but only Docker was clickable (green).
  • It was successful, but without instructions on how to proceed. Refresh displayed the instructions from step 2.
  • I did that with this unhappy result.

I added dummy themes:update task in both stable and beta.
