# Upgrading Mathjax to version 4

If anyone is just itching to try out this new version or if (like me) they _can’t_ wait since they’ve got classes that will use it starting in a few days, then you can install this standalone version here:

I based it off of [this commit](https://github.com/discourse/discourse/pull/36814/commits/573bd992acc80e20bf9019d746a68d2b4cd57c82), I believe, changed it to draw MathJax from a CDN, rather than internally.
