# Uploaded image was reduced to unlinked thumbnail

In [this post](https://meta.discourse.org/t/how-to-restore-old-post-version/22289/3?u=dandv) I’ve uploaded a ~5Mb screencast. Is there a size limit beyond which images are silently thumbnailed? I think there should be a more explicit warning about that, or ideally a link from the thumbnail to the large image, if it gets hosted somewhere.

I will make sure there is a limit in the size of the image when we try to automatically downsize it to fit it in the limits.
