# קישורי URI למקור של נושא שזוכה למיזוג צריך לקבל שגיאת 503 בהודעה של המיזוג

#### Suggestion

URIs that direct to the original thread of a thread that has been merged into another thread as a comment should redirect to the replacement (“merged”) comment.

#### Rationale

In a thread discussing this deficiency with the moderators of another Discourse instance, I provided some examples: \[1\]

> Consider how, at [`reddit.com/user/rokejulianlockhart/comments/1ait7c0`](https://www.reddit.com/user/rokejulianlockhart/comments/1ait7c0/please_support_adding_usbc_locking_pin_threads_to/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button), the URI is now 404. There is no link, when visited, to the new thread that is has been merged to.

2. 

> _That_’s the problem — frequently, the URI cannot be updated. That post is an example of that. I suppose I’ll just have to learn to use a middleman (like [`dub.sh`](https://dub.sh/)) that forwards open graph tags.

Mu suggestion to report it here was affirmed there, too.
