# Event image URL

Hi, I wanted to know if there’s a way to provide an event image URL in addition to uploading the image file?

This would allow me to paste a direct image URL from the forum or an external image link. I find it simpler than downloading the image first and then uploading it 😅

Do you mean click on the image and it opens a link to say a site?

Ie this image link will take you to your first post

you can copy image URL and paste on your topic. It copies the image. You may need to edit URL to link the image to external site

Yes, I know about the topics; it’s just that when I create an event, I would prefer to have an image URL rather than uploading it during event creation. I wanted to know if there is a way to use an image URL instead of uploading, either through a plugin update or some other method. I think having an event with an image looks nice.

This is called hotlinking and generally considered bad practice as you are essentially stealing someone else’s bandwidth who is hosting the image. (And you have no control over the length of time the image is hosted)

However, there’s a good case for downloading the image of the URL you supply …
