# User was forced to wait for approval, despite a pending invitation

I invited a user to my hosted forum, and now I see his email address in my users pending approval. How can this be?
I don’t really know how he found out the forum URL without clicking the invitation link , but even if he registered fresh, I’d like to think that the pending invitation from a matching email address would act as an approval for his pending account.
PS I can certainly wait until Monday while to approve Mark, while the team looks into this.

Awesome! I just upgraded my self hosted forum, where I have about 300 invites.
I see that a few match current users, could we get a task to clean up some of my pending invites which are no longer needed, since they match active users?
