# Users can't edit their email / verification link doesn't work

Our users can’t change their email, neither can the admins. The only working way is to hack the change in the database.

We have this issue for well over a year now, currently on 2.6.0beta1.

## behaviour

The user changes their email and receives a verification link. But when clicking on this link, they land on an error page stating `{page_not_found.title}`.

## expected behaviour

verification link should actually work

## our settings

We use an external SSO. We have the settings `email editable = true` and `sso overrides email = false`.

## current workaround

Manually hack changes into the database to skip verification.
