# Using translated tags

How are translated tags expected to work?

Currently, when I enable automatic translations, the autocomplete that appears after entering a # suggests German tags, but for searching, I need to enter the English tag. This feels quite unexpected to see an autocomplete while you need to type something totally different.

So I enter “user” to find “benutzer”

Then I click on “benutzer” or “benutzer-portfolio” to select the tag, and the German translation is added to the body of this post:

#benutzer #benutzer-portfolio

The problem is that those actually don’t work. The don’t create links as if I had entered #users or #user-portfolio (`#users or #user-portfolio`).

This is not only a problem in posts and chat messages. It’s the same when creating topics and adding tags to existing topics.  
The drop-down offers German results, but I have to search for the English original of the tag.

Then I select the tags from the autocomplete.

The result after posting: no tag. Not even a warning that there is no “etiketten” tag and it will be removed.

Compared to the composer where I can at least enter something the autocomplete does not offer. It seems impossible to add a the #content-localization tags to this topic. I can only select #inhaltslokalisierung

And that is removed when I post this topic
