The git tag had been attached a [commit](https://github.com/discourse/discourse/commit/2cac4eb9a157c4835dce813d73a7196ed14652d6) which wasn’t on a branch. The tags are now attached to the [correct commit](https://github.com/discourse/discourse/commit/1acbf8262ba24d601d639c3a8833d67217f5d036), so the version label should show correctly next time you update. Sorry for the confusion! ---
