Why not use the [data explorer plug-in](https://meta.discourse.org/t/data-explorer-plugin/32566)? This [data model](https://meta.discourse.org/t/database-diagram-for-tables-keys-columns-etcetera-in-discourse/3947/10) will help.

You’ll also need to use [a service to convert the text location into coordinates](http://www.geonames.org/) so they can be mapped.
