Watched Words to serve as shortcut command to insert links

Hey friend, I’m glad you speak Portuguese, so I don’t need to use Google Translate and make a fool of myself here with bizarre translations lol

So, I switched from WordPress to Discourse, and it was like going from trash to treasure. However, in WordPress, there was a very interesting tool/plugin that my forum members pester me every day to put on it.

It’s nothing more than a menu that stays in the text box. When you click on this menu, you have the option to save the link of your GIFs, assigning a command to call them. For example, I put the Gretchen crying GIF and the command is gretchoro1, so every time I type gretchoro1, the GIF is added to the text box. And to see which GIF I put for each command, I just open the menu and see the GIF thumbnails.

So, they told me about this ReplyGif thing, which is similar, but I couldn’t use it.

I saw that in Discourse, there’s Watched Words. Well, I can replace a word (Example Choro2) with a GIF link, but the problem is that this GIF link doesn’t embed in the text box, and only admins can use it. Also, you can’t see the GIF thumbnails in the menu, only the GIF link.

If I wanted to do something like this, what should I study? Is it programming?
