# 'we miss you' email to members

I wanted to send an email to all the members of my forum who’ve not visited the site for a while (in an attempt to lure them back) but I’m not sure the best way of approaching this problem.

Can someone point me in the right direction please? Thank you.

The best thing to do right now would be to [export the user list](https://meta.discourse.org/t/export-user-information-list/18960) and use MailChimp or something

Something like this was discussed [here](https://meta.discourse.org/t/notification-options/21694/8).

One gotcha is that the export csv does not currently include last\_seen dates (though from the first topic linked above you can see that more fields have been added when requested before).

Note that the weekly digest is on by default and will automatically email people who have not been seen on the site in a while. So this is probably already happening for you.

The weekly digest is enabled, and is being sent out, but I wanted to try something a bit more personal with a message inviting them back, rather than just the digest.

Also note that this will not be a “transactional” email, so you will have to be in CAN-SPAM compliance for US recipients.
