# Webhook to forward posts to a mailinglist: best practice?

Are you saying that you are using Gmail as an outgoing mailserver for your entire discourse?[I don’t think that’s a good idea](https://meta.discourse.org/t/anyone-using-gmail-for-smtp/41371/8). You should use sparkmail, mailgun or the like for that. Or setup “[Straightforward direct-delivery incoming mail](https://meta.discourse.org/t/straightforward-direct-delivery-incoming-mail/49487)”.
