# Welcome email plugin?

I have done enough searching to be sure that this will never be part of Discourse core, but not enough yet to find a plugin that would allow it to happen! Is there such a thing? Thank you.

Can you explain a little more about what you mean? Do you want to be able to send a customised email to everyone that has signed up? You can currently customise the content of any email that is sent by Discourse.

Yes, that’s what I’d like.
I didn’t think there was a welcome email to customise, as the official position is that the welcome message does that job:

There is the email validation email, but that’s doesn’t get sent to people who sign up via Facebook etc so isn’t quite what I’m looking for.

We do have plans to build out some automation functionality in the future and this is one of the use cases but I don’t have a timeline. I agree that this would be incredibly useful.
