# 归档消息会对该消息产生什么影响？

Hello discourse community,

I have been working on making a _profile_ tutorial for my community and came up with the following question:

What’s the impact to the message when I `Archive` it? I know the consequences when a moderator does that in a topic, but couldn’t find anything related to Private Messages.

Archiving private messages simply moves them to the “archived” tab. As soon as the message gets a reply, it will end up back in the inbox.
