# 编辑 /etc/gai.conf 后该怎么做

I followed [this](https://cloudsupport.digitalocean.com/s/#App_Software) guide since I cannot send test email on my forum site and i always got this error.

> here was a problem sending the test email. Please double-check your mail settings, verify that your host is not blocking mail connections, and try again.

Question is do I need to rebuild the app after editing /etc/gai.conf file for the changes to take effect ?

What the heck is `etc/gai.conf` I’ve never ever heard of this file in the context of Discourse?
