@featheredtoast has been working on our next iteration of launcher (launcher 2)
It is designed from the ground up to better integrate into the Docker patterns that evolved in the past 10 years. (First class support for Docker Compose, env driven config, Support for zero downtime rebuilds)
We are still in early days and migrating a huge open source ecosystem to a new pattern is going to take time. That said Jeff already hosts multiple self host sites using the new patterns to great success and was able to port some older self hosted sites to the new pattern.
We want to make it easier for anyone to try out Discourse. The more Discourse there is in the world the happier we are.
