# When I try to create new category, it does not complete and has error

I’ve got it too. Having a subcategory named ‘edit’ turns the category link into an edit button.

~~As a workaround, to delete the glitching edit category I selected it from the dropdown rather than clicking a category link, and that will let you back into its settings to delete.~~

Nope, that did not work consistently.

That 's it. But then you must click to “General” again to go to edit  
And try to rename to other → It will be alright.

you need to add an additional `edit` to the url and then delete the category

`/c/edit/edit/general`
