# When user can delete own topics/posts

Let’s say `Max post deletions per minute` (Maximum number of posts a user can delete per minute. Set to 0 to disable post deletions.) and `Max post deletions per day` (Maximum number of posts a user can delete per day. Set to 0 to disable post deletions.) are both set to `0`.

I think I read somewhere that a brand new user is able to delete his very first post, and if it’s an no-reply topic it’ll delete the topic too. Did I imagine that?

Is this linked with `Post edit time limit` (A tl0 or tl1 author can edit their post for (n) minutes after posting. Set to 0 for forever.) and `TL2 post edit time limit` (A tl2+ author can edit their post for (n) minutes after posting. Set to 0 for forever.) – or are editing and deleting entirely separate?
