# Why can we no longer delete our accounts?

I just opened my [meta.discourse.org](http://meta.discourse.org) user preferences page and distinctly saw that users were able to delete their account (pictured below). I checked later in another tab, and the functionality was gone. Why was this suddenly changed? Is this a bug, or was it intentional?

That would make sense, but my first post (with this account) was nearly _two hours_ before I checked (affirmatively) whether we could delete our account. Is there just a delay?

No, it just kicks in on post number 2. You can self-delete if you have 0 or 1 posts.
