# Why cant i see the pencil icon for edit history

I have admin level access, but I cannot see any pencil icon to view the edit history, despite it was done outside of the grace period. I can see it when I run an SQL query in [data explorer](https://meta.discourse.org/t/32566?silent=true), however I would like to see in the UI using the pencil icon , but it seems to be missing
