# 为什么需要提前进行电子邮件验证？

我一直非常期待尝试 Discourse。我已经在 Digital Ocean 上搭建了一个实例，但过去几个小时一直无法通过电子邮件验证步骤。我想知道，为什么你们要把 SMTP 配置作为初始设置的必要步骤，仅仅是为了试用平台？为什么不能像 WordPress 那样，允许用户稍后再配置邮件系统呢？

您必须指定一位负责人——即管理员——来按照您的意愿设置和自定义 Discourse。此类设置和自定义操作只能由管理员执行。通过使用电子邮件验证您的管理员身份，一旦您点击验证链接，系统将自动为您登录并将其设置为您为管理员。
如果您在设置用于发送邀请或通知的 SMTP 时遇到问题，只需在 Meta 这里搜索即可。有些人曾遇到过设置问题，针对不同邮件提供商已有相应的解决方案。
