# Why is the Sidebar Collapse missing on my site?

Hello,  
On Meta and the rest of Discourse sites with the sidebar enabled there’s a collapse button.

However on my site this button is missing

(The same goes for the default theme, I dont want to change my theme)

Any idea on why this is?

You’ve tried [safe mode](https://meta.discourse.org/t/53504?silent=true)?

There is likely some css in your theme that’s hiding it.

Never mind, something’s definitely hiding it, probably a component. I’ll look into it.

@darkpixlz This issue seems to have been from the [header search component](https://meta.discourse.org/t/header-search/194093). Thanks to @manuel for identifying the component causing the issue, I’ve just pushed out a [fix](https://github.com/discourse/discourse-header-search/commit/637b21e351bca7c134ef1f58b3d59e87fef93f34).
