# Why is there a discourse emoji for the middle finger emoji?

You know that emoji is chosen by a committee right?

Discourse just makes the existing emojis available.
TL;DR:
Fr the same reason that it’s avaliable on Google Hangouts, Facebook Whatsapp and everywhere else.
